What are all the ports on my printer for?

On the back of your printer you will see a selection of different ports, ranging from the power socket to network and usb ports and perhaps a parallel port.
This articles illustrates what each of the ports is for.
Power Socket
- To connect your printer to the mains socket in the wall.

Your printer will either connect to your computer using the USB Port or using a Parallel Port.
Parallel Port USB Port USB Port

Tel / Line Port (does not appear on all printers)
- TEL port is used to connect an external handset to the printer
- LINE port is used to connect for fax capabilities.

Network Port
- Can be used to connect your printer to a network
